Privacy Policy

Propora (operated by ZA TechLabs, Cape Town) respects your privacy and processes personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

1. Who we are
For account holders (landlords and agencies) we act as the responsible party. For information you capture about your tenants, owners and contractors, you are the responsible party and we act as your operator.

2. What we collect
Account details such as name, email, phone number and company details; billing records; property, tenant, invoice, maintenance and document records you capture; and technical data such as IP address, browser type and usage logs.

3. Why we use it
To provide and secure the service, process subscriptions, send service and billing notices, provide support, and improve Propora. We do not sell personal information.

4. Sharing
We share information only with service providers needed to run Propora, such as hosting, email, SMS, payment and e-signature providers, and only to the extent needed. Where these providers are outside South Africa we take reasonable steps to ensure adequate protection as required by section 72 of POPIA.

5. Security
We use access controls, role based permissions, encrypted connections and regular backups to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify you and the Information Regulator of any security compromise as required by law.

6. Retention
We keep information for as long as your account is active and thereafter only as long as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may object to processing or lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
